There is a myth that the more time you spend in the office the more likely you are to be considered for a faster promotion. This is false, for it is not the hours and minutes that count, but what matters is performance. There are those who live near their place of work without doing anything, just to look good to your boss. What you must show is dedication, and hard work. Seek the opinion of others. Present angles and ideas that people are unaware of. Respect and consider their point of view. Have your say. Do not say yes to everything your boss says. Be a leader, clear your ideas and projects, and assert your opinion. Develop a strong image of yourself and your talent and you will deserve success. Say it many times and deal with it. Make good decisions. The winners are studying the pros and cons of a situation and then make a quick decision. Delegate responsibilities. Use your time on projects that truly require your attention. Do not act like a super man or woman who must do everything so that tasks go smoothly. Speak well of your coworkers. Be firm in your ideas and proposals. Do not hesitate even for a second, if you think your project will benefit the company. Accept criticism. Learn to listen and evaluate the different opinions. Establish good relationships with your co-workers, for in the end they will support your ideas and extend their help.
